Over the past few years, we’ve been working to make our school a more equitable place for all our students. That is why this year we decided to make a big change. Instead of hosting the spring fundraising gala, we tried something new — a spring fundraising drive, an online auction, and a celebration of our community at the Sabin School Art Show.
We have already raised nearly $100,000 to support teachers and educational staff, and you can still make a contribution by donating directly to the Sabin School Foundation or by purchasing an art print or postcard from the Online Marketplace.
Change is difficult and sometimes scary, and there are bound to be bumps along the way. That is why this appeal is more important than ever. For the 2019–20 school year, PPS expects budget cuts across the district. Without this drive, Sabin is facing 30% larger classrooms and the loss of 3 licensed teaching positions along with educational assistants.
These shortages will be felt by everyone at the school, but disproportionately by students who most need our support. Because of those cuts, we need to raise $125,000. It’s a big ask, but based on the generosity we’ve encountered over the years through your donated time, ideas, and money, we know our community can do it. We are optimistic that we can raise these funds, but we can’t do it without your help.
Please help us start off this successful fundraising drive with a tax-deductible gift that will help ALL our kids succeed!
Donate: No donation is too big or too small — $5, $10, and $20 donations are important, too! You can donate by check or online, and all gifts to the foundation are tax-deductible.
